Natural Dye Workshop-A Study of the Eastern Black Walnut

$125.00

Each year, we collaborate with our friends at The Farmhouse Project, naturally dyeing their organic linens with flowers from their dye garden and walnuts from the majestic trees that border their property. This summer, we're thrilled to offer our first natural dye workshop together on Wednesday, June 25.
In this workshop, we'll  explore the rich earthy palette of the Eastern Black Walnut-discovering  how its bark, leaves, and nuts yield the deepest browns, warm bronzes, and golden tones.  Participants  will learn the various  methods for processing different  parts of the tree to achieve these stunning  colors; create dye samples and dye several pieces to take home.  We'll also cover  ethical harvesting of locally foraged dyes and caring  for naturally dyed fabrics. Each participant will receive additional dye material to continue experimenting  at home.
Space is limited, so don't wait-join us for an afternoon of natural dyeing, refreshments and cocktails in the beautiful setting of the Black Walnut.
